Most of the information PetitionMatcher holds about you comes from the match intake. Profile information may include your professional field, occupation, specialization, employment information, education, experience, proposed work in the United States, publications, citations, peer review, patents, funding, implementation or adoption, government support, and other evidence you enter.

To maintain an account, PetitionMatcher also holds your email address and the authentication provider information needed to sign you in.

Enter only what is useful for matching. Do not submit highly sensitive identifiers that PetitionMatcher does not need, including:

• Social Security numbers
• passport numbers
• full payment-card numbers
• account passwords
• other government identifiers that are not required for matching

PetitionMatcher uses the information it collects to:

• run profile matching
• display and save your results
• let you edit your profile and rerun matching
• manage your account
• improve the product and its matching quality
• troubleshoot problems
• prevent abuse and protect the service
• maintain security
• respond to support requests

You sign in with your email or a supported sign-in provider. PetitionMatcher does not receive your Google password or the credentials you hold with any other provider. Authentication providers process your information under their own policies, and PetitionMatcher receives only what is needed to create and maintain your account.

If you opt in, we may send occasional emails about new cases, product updates, and special offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.

When you use the service, PetitionMatcher records limited technical information such as browser and device characteristics, pages viewed, interactions with the service, approximate location derived from your IP address where applicable, and security and diagnostic logs.

Google Analytics loads on the production site and may set cookies. It helps us understand how visitors use PetitionMatcher, including pages viewed and limited interactions such as clicks on Research links, resource cards, and official-source links. Those interactions are recorded using fixed internal labels, never free text, and never include names, email addresses, profile or case content, search terms, or full external destination URLs. Google Analytics cookies may remain on your device for up to two years. You can turn analytics off at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Turning it off stops future analytics collection on that device and attempts to remove the Google Analytics cookies set by PetitionMatcher.

If PetitionMatcher offers paid features, payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. PetitionMatcher does not store complete payment-card numbers.

PetitionMatcher draws on information from public or publicly accessible sources. These may include government decisions, law firm case studies, other published case materials, and community or self-reported sources.

Community and self-reported sources are handled separately from official records and are not independently verified unless expressly stated.

PetitionMatcher relies on vendors to operate. Depending on the feature, vendors may support hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, analytics, fraud and abuse protection, and payments. Vendors receive only the information needed to perform their function and are expected to protect it.

PetitionMatcher does not sell personal information to advertisers.

PetitionMatcher may disclose information:

• to the vendors needed to operate the service
• to comply with law or valid legal process
• to investigate or address fraud, abuse, or security risks
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or other transfer of the business, if that occurs

Account, profile, and results information is kept for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accounts, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the platform. See the Data Retention page for how retention works by data type.

PetitionMatcher uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information it holds. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

You can review and edit your profile through your account. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, contact support@petitionmatcher.com.

Matching results may link to USCIS and other government sites, law firms, community platforms, and other publishers. PetitionMatcher does not control those sites and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.

PetitionMatcher is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.

PetitionMatcher may update this policy. The date above reflects the most recent change, and material updates will be posted on this page.
