Terms of Service

PetitionMatcher is a research-only EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) case-comparison tool. It compares the profile information you provide against immigration decisions, published case studies, and other case-related sources, and returns comparable cases and related information.

PetitionMatcher provides research tools, not legal representation or individualized legal conclusions. Using the service, creating an account, purchasing access, or communicating with PetitionMatcher does not create an attorney-client relationship. Consult a licensed immigration attorney about your eligibility, evidence, filing strategy, or other legal decisions.

A similarity or comparison score is not an approval probability. Results do not predict what USCIS will decide, establish eligibility, or guarantee an outcome. An approved or denied comparable case does not establish what will happen in another case. Immigration outcomes depend on the individual facts, evidence, law, adjudication, and circumstances of each case.

Sources differ in completeness, reliability, context, detail, and currency, and may not be representative of all immigration cases. Community and self-reported information is presented separately from official records and is not independently verified unless expressly stated. Source material and automated or AI-assisted analysis can contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Review the original sources and independently verify information before relying on it in a filing or decision.

Sources can disappear, third-party links can break, and service interruptions can occur. Features, data sources, and matching methods may evolve, subject to the paid-access protections and Changes section below. PetitionMatcher does not promise uninterrupted operation. These limitations do not exclude legal warranties or remedies required by applicable law.

You are responsible for the information you enter. Incomplete or inaccurate profile information can reduce the relevance of your results, and adding or refining information can produce closer comparisons. Editing your profile is not itself legal advice.

You retain ownership of the information you submit. You grant PetitionMatcher only the limited rights reasonably necessary to store, process, analyze, and display that information back to you, and to use it to provide and improve the service. PetitionMatcher does not claim ownership of your profile data and does not acquire any right to publicly publish your immigration profile.

Accounts are personal. Keep your account secure and your sign-in method protected. Do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your account or purchased unlocks, or access an account you are not authorized to use. Private sharing of exported results as permitted below does not authorize account sharing. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account where it is reasonable to hold you responsible.

Basic matching is free, subject to the displayed usage limits. Complete Results is an optional paid unlock. Do not create multiple accounts, cycle identities, or otherwise circumvent free-tier limits. Free limits and features may change as described under Changes below.

Complete Results is a $4.99 USD one-time full-results unlock, with no subscription or automatic recurring charge. Prices and included features are shown before purchase. A third-party payment processor may handle the transaction.

A purchase covers the applicant profile associated with the match run you purchased. It includes permanent access to that purchased result set through your account, subject to the general availability of the service, plus unlimited matching reruns with no expiry for that same profile. This also applies to existing purchases. Editing your profile is not treated as a matching run. Result sets created through this paid rerun access include Complete Results and do not require another purchase.

Access is personal to the applicant profile purchased and is not transferable to a materially different applicant. Do not use an account, a shared profile, or a series of profile edits to extend paid access to a different person's case. PetitionMatcher may decline to extend the rerun benefit to a profile it determines, using an automated and proportionate check, is no longer substantially the same applicant who was purchased for; this never removes access to your already-purchased results.

Complete Results is delivered as soon as your purchase is confirmed, so purchases are generally non-refundable once access has been provided.

If you are charged more than once for the same purchase, or a technical problem prevents delivery of the purchased access, contact us at support@petitionmatcher.com. We will correct a duplicate charge and restore missing access or refund the affected purchase if we cannot deliver it.

Refunds are not provided because of an immigration outcome, an attorney’s opinion, a change in your plans, or dissatisfaction with results that were delivered as described. We may also decline refund requests involving fraud, abuse, or repeated purchase-and-refund activity.

This policy does not limit mandatory cancellation, refund, warranty, or other remedies under applicable consumer-protection law. Those rights apply even where the general policy above would decline a refund.

PetitionMatcher may link to government agencies, law firms, community platforms, and other publishers. Those materials are maintained by their publishers. Inclusion does not imply endorsement of a law firm, an attorney, a publisher, a platform, or a community user, and PetitionMatcher does not control whether third-party material stays available.

You may use PetitionMatcher and your unlocked results for your own research. Complete Results includes the built-in PDF export of the full unlocked match set for your run, as well as filtered and saved result selections.

You may retain those exports, privately share your results with an attorney or consultant assisting you, and use them in personal AI-assisted review of your own case. Keep source and rights notices intact. Consider the privacy and data-use terms of any adviser or AI provider before sharing. This permission covers private review, not public redistribution or developing a competing service.

The restrictions below do not prohibit these permitted exports or private uses, or restrict rights you have independently in public records or third-party materials obtained from their original sources.

Public search engines may index publicly accessible informational pages in accordance with our robots instructions. This permission does not extend to authenticated pages, personalized results, exports, or database reconstruction.

Except as expressly permitted above or authorized by us, do not:

• access another user’s profile or results without authorization
• bypass authentication, paid-access controls, or usage limits
• scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content or data from the service without authorization
• systematically reproduce, bulk download, or redistribute the case collection or proprietary content, including by accumulating separate exports to reconstruct the database
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble protected software or matching systems, except to the extent applicable law permits this despite a contractual restriction
• use PetitionMatcher’s proprietary content, compiled data, or protected systems to build, train, or operate a competing service
• remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or other rights notices
• interfere with the security or operation of the service
• use the service for any unlawful purpose

To the extent rights exist under applicable law, PetitionMatcher owns or licenses its original content, analysis, website copy, software, original interface expression, branding, database compilation, selection and organization, database structure, extraction methodology, and matching algorithms. These Terms grant the limited use permissions described above, not ownership of those protected materials or systems.

We do not claim ownership of underlying public records, public facts, generic interface ideas, or third-party materials. Government decisions, law firm publications, community posts, and other third-party materials remain subject to applicable law and their respective owners’ rights. Indexing, extracting, summarizing, or linking to them does not transfer those rights to PetitionMatcher. References to methodology or algorithms do not claim copyright in ideas, procedures, or methods themselves.

If you hold rights in material and believe it is displayed, summarized, or linked inappropriately, contact support@petitionmatcher.com and identify the material, its source URL, the nature of your concern, and how to reach you.

PetitionMatcher may restrict or end access to address fraud, abuse, security risks, violations of these Terms, attempts to circumvent payment or access controls, or harm to the service or its users. Restrictions will be proportionate to the issue. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it; urgent security or legal concerns may require immediate action. Contact us to request review. This clause does not remove mandatory refund rights or permit arbitrary revocation of purchased access.

Each party’s liability is determined by applicable law. These Terms do not release PetitionMatcher from responsibility for its own acts or omissions, set a damages cap, or waive remedies available to you under mandatory consumer law. Research warnings and source limitations explain how to use the service; they do not remove legal rights. Mandatory rights and remedies prevail over these Terms.

You remain responsible under applicable law for your intentional unlawful misuse of the service or knowing infringement of another person’s rights. If that conduct causes a third-party claim, any obligation to compensate PetitionMatcher is limited to what applicable law allows and losses directly attributable to your conduct. It does not include losses caused by PetitionMatcher’s own acts or omissions. Permitted research, exports, private adviser sharing, and personal AI-assisted review do not create such an obligation. We will notify you of any claim and allow reasonable participation in its defense. We will not settle a claim in a way that imposes obligations on you without your consent.

These Terms are subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections. They do not require you to waive access to a court, submit to mandatory arbitration, or give up rights to bring or participate in proceedings that applicable law protects.

PetitionMatcher may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms with an updated date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the service or your account email, identify the changes and their effective date, and obtain consent where the law requires it. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively reduce purchased access, unlimited same-profile rerun benefits, or accrued rights. Any notice, cancellation, or refund rights required by law remain available. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
